On Thursday, June 16 John Nickleby, MLA Board President, and Dick Howard, MLA Vice President, hosted 10 leaders from the Wisconsin DNR, Wisconsin Extension Division, and Wisconsin Lakes Board to view all the work the MLA is doing to prevent AIS infestation and keep our lake quality at its best.

The next day, they were here for the NW Wisconsin Water Quality Conference in Spooner. These are the people who are responsible for funding the many activities we do at Matthews Lakes through Clean Boats, Clean Waters, Healthy Lakes and Rivers, and Surface Water grants. 

As we toured the lake via pontoon boats, they expressed their support and admiration for all we are doing on our shorelines and at the landing to prevent the spread of invasive species into our lake. Thanks to these leaders from Wisconsin for protecting our water quality.
